It would be difficult to have a better pedigree than Weatherly. Designed by Sparkman and Stephens and built of wood in 1972 by Driscoll Custom Boats, the yawl Weatherly (nee Zäida) is one of four near sisters to come from the yard. The Driscolls loved the design so much, that one of the originals remains in the family’s hands.

Weatherly has been owned since the early 1990s by Dan McDonough and is berthed in Gig Harbor. She is an occasional visitor to Port Townsend’s Wooden Boat Festival and turns heads wherever she goes.

Project List:

She will be on hand for a year’s worth of cruising beginning with Seattle Yacht Club’s Opening Day and culminating with an appearance at the Wooden Boat Festival in September.
