About Emerald Harbor Marine
Larry Schildwachter is the general manager of Emerald Harbor Marine. As a yacht captain for many years from the Mediterranean to the South Pacific he learned the demands of managing a modern yacht. He has logged more than his share of hours wiring, plumbing, navigating, troubleshooting and learning what works and what doesn't. Additional boatbuilding experience has given him insight as well. In establishing Emerald Harbor, Larry has applied that knowledge, offering only the best equipment and technical expertise. Larry has cultivated relationships with suppliers around the world to connect them with Emerald Harbor customers. Call Larry on his cell phone,

Dan Heyl is a senior project manager with Emerald Harbor Marine. While he can install or repair virtually anything onboard a boat, his specialty is energy management. An ABYC certified electrician, Dan has traveled around the world to receive training and learn about products directly from the manufacturers. He is an authorized technician for Xantrex, Heart, Trace, Spectra and many other product lines. His travels take him from Europe for the premier boat shows to Asia where customers want him to design systems during the construction phase. Dan started sailing as a youngster in the Midwest and has taught at Steve Colgate's prestigious Offshore Sailing School. He continues to race competitively. Call Dan on his cell phone,

Rod Holappa and Larry met when Emerald Harbor was establishing itself. Holappa was preparing his own Grand Banks 32 for a trip up the Inside Passage, but Larry quickly tapped him as great subcontractor for a major project. Holappa had plenty of experience to handle the project: he’d owned his own Harbor Island-based company installing engine controls and electronics on tugs, and ships. In 2004, Holappa came to Emerald Harbor full time, where his experience on sophisticated ships serves him well on today’s sophisticated yachts. These days, when not working on boats, Holappa retreats to his cabin in the Okanagan mountains.
Andy McBride has been working on boats in Seattle since 1976. In a career that started out painting bottoms, he has done just about everything from mechanical to fiberglass work to management. Since coming to Emerald Harbor in 2006, he projects have tended to be electronics, watermakers and rewiring projects. Some of his favorite projects have been the many Nordhavns that come through Emerald Harbor Marine for commissioning and custom upgrades.
Brett Jenes has become Emerald Harbor’s resident air conditioning and heating expert, though like all the other team leads has a wide range of experience in several areas. After working around boats and in the marine retail business, he came to Emerald Harbor in 2002. Jenes’ affinity for boats should be of no surprise: he grew up living aboard a 37’ Cooper Seabird and cruised the South Pacific as a child. These days he’s happily living ashore and spends a fair bit of time working on his house.
Lyn Schildwachter began sailing as a child on The Great Lakes. Later she moved with her family aboard a 42’ Alden yawl in which they cruised the Caribbean. She has crewed on private and corporate sailing and power yachts as mate, stewardess and chef in the Caribbean and in the Puget Sound area. She ran a brightwork crew for many years in Seattle. Since 1995 she has been Office Manager for Emerald Harbor Marine, during which time her boating knowledge and experience has been very valuable to staff and customers.
